These are poems written by various young ladies that receive Wisdom’s Crown.

The Tree

I was walking thru an ancient wood,
And there before me stood,
The tallest tree in sight for me,
The grandest thing I’ll ever see.
The trunk was thick and lumpy.
The branches ever so bumpy.
As I slowly walked away,
A branch began to sway.
The swallows and sparrows were singing,
Their music chirping and ringing.
I praised God for His Creation,
And all he is still makin’.

A Faithful Friend

A faithful friend, as gold, is rare,
and far more precious, too--
One with whom your heart you share,
For you know that she is true.

She understands your deepest thought
And shares your joys and woes;
She comforts you when you're distraught,
And loving compassion shows.

A friend like that is truly a treasure,
For though other friends abound,
A faithful friend loves without measure,
And is a precious one to be found.

However, I know another friend
With whom no girl compares:
He loves and forgives me without end,
And all my burdens bears.

When I am sad, He comforts me,
And cheers me when I'm glad;
He gave salvation full and free,
And in His grace I'm clad.

When I begin to go astray,
He gently chastens me,
And puts me back on the narrow way
When I am cleansed and free.

I can come to Him with anything
And know He truly cares;
He makes my heavy heart to sing,
For He hears my earnest prayers.

'His erring child He reconciled'
When I was undeserving,
So I will be His faithful child
And ever Him be serving.

              Nature!

  • The day is here from our Lord which made all.
The grass seems greener and the sky is bluer.
The flowers are prettier with blossoms of pink.
The trunk of the old tree seems older and older.
  • While the clouds flow by,
The strong, handsome bird builds his house out of straw.
And as the ant walks by with food to please his queen.
As night falls, the owl, the fox and the bat awake

To catch their prey.
Oh what a peaceful night it is.
Now the sun rises and the blossoms arise
And say, "Oh what a happy day to all it will be."

 Sinking Sand
Sinking Sand, Sinking Sand,
I will hold to Jesus hand
Sinking Sand, Sinking Sand,
When He’s holding I will stand.

A Time of Rest

“All the birds hath gone to rest
‘Tis no song in the air,
 East, South, North, West,
All the birds hath gone to rest
The sun is setting midnight clinging
To the sky, where birds, are singing,
The dawn breaks, soon shall all birds fly.

Walk With Me

Walk with me
Oh Lord, I pray
Throughout the night and through each day

Helpless, hopeless without Thee—
Make me what I ought to be.

Be near to me
My God, I cry
Grace I beg Thee to supply.

Change my willful, stubborn heart
Resolve to follow Thee, impart.

Confused and worn
I come to Thee
Without Thy help, I cannot see

Show me how to walk Thy way
Direct my footsteps, day by day.

Thy will is what
I long to do
Reveal Thy mercies, ever new

And may I glorify Thy name
Inspiring others to the same.

Until I see Thee
Lord, I pray
To grow like Thee in every way

Daily bringing death to me
Replacing all with only Thee.
